Bio Gas

Biogas is the key product of anaerobic digestion. The AD process releases the incoming carbon from its chemical bonds in the substrate and recombines it with mainly Hydrogen to produce Methane - or - Oxygen to produce Carbon Dioxide. Additional components in the Biogas are Nitrogen, Hydrogen, Oxygen and Hydrosulphite.
Some of the by-products in the Biogas are chemically aggressive and cause problems in the downstream processing. Before the Biogas therefore can be deployed it is sensible to remove the undesirable components, most notably the Hydrosulphite and moist. Hydrosulphite is very corrosive and will affect technical infrastructure be it pumps, valves or entire engines. The Biogas therefore is run through a Gas Cleaning process which de-moisturizes the Biogas and removes the Hydrosulphite sufficiently to allow combustion without causing tothe engines.
Biogas can further be refined to reduce the Carbon Dioxide content to increase its energy density and reduce the carbon footprint of our factory. In fact, capturing carbon and applying it in a controlled manner for the benefit of food production or fertilization of food crops will actually realize a Negative Carbon Footprint.
